Existing Installations
C-Bus Systems
There are a number of existing C-Bus installations up and down the country that have been working efficiently but then something happens! Perhaps the ownership of the building has changed hands, and changes are required to the set up. Possibly service or maintenance contracts are not up to date, and there is no record of whom to contact for changes, or additions.
In many such cases C B U S + E C O Projects (a division of Intelligent Environments Limited) have been able to step in and assist where help is required. Our extensive and in depth knowledge allows us to audit the system and locate any problem areas, and we can then move ahead with the changes or additions that the building owner requires.
Often we are contacted by the building owner directly, but at other times we may be brought in by an electrical contractor or by a less experienced C-Bus installer who needs some advice. We are happy to work with all parties to find a resolution to meet the building owner's needs.
Hybrid Designs
We've certainly come across some 'interesting' control systems over the years. Unfortunately when a property is purchased with a system in place that is a 'hybrid' - an unsupported 'one off' system designed and set up by a hobbyist installer, the potential for future expansion, upgrade, or even repairs to the system is pretty grim!
When called upon to inspect and evaluate such a system, the first step is to attempt to audit the cabling, the hardware used and the set up. From there we can suggest a possible upgrade path to ensure the system not only operates to the building owner's requirements, but is also a system that can be supported into the future.
eBos Upgrades
C B U S + E C O Projects have completed a number of successful eBos to C-Bus changeovers.
eBos was hailed as the latest technology in its day but is no longer manufactured and it is almost impossible to find a programmer willing to work on this system. The good news however, is that much of the existing eBos cabling can be re-utilised with a C-Bus system, and once the upgrade is completed, the building owner owns a system that is supported by a worldwide manufacturer.
